What is a face fit test?
Face fitting is a test to ensure the mask is suitable for an individual wearer. Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) must be able to provide adequate protection from hazards. As people come in all sorts of shapes and sizes it is unlikely that one particular type or size of RPE face piece will fit everyone. When RPE is worn correctly, the mask should protect you from airborne hazards.
Who should be tested?
Anyone who is required to wear tight fitting face masks, respiratory and compressed air breathing apparatus.
Why do we need a face fit test?
To ensure that the protective mask you wear is suitable for your face shape in order to maximise protection against harmful airborne substances.
The face fit test is a simple 20 minute test
